Object Lesson FAIL!

What do you do when an object lesson brutally fails?!!!
You say, "Oh Well!" And keep on going!
Literally.
You just put it aside and keep going!
This is exactly what happened to me at Kidfest last weekend. I had a Van De Graaff machine and it worked perfectly until I put it on the stage-- then several factors impacted it: the grounding of the stage, the humidity from the fog machines. And the machine didn't work. Was is frustrating? Yes!!! But in the end did it impact the life changes that took place in the altar? Not one bit!
The word of God is powerful enough on its own and the object lesson is just a show and tell. But we can't let our frustration with an object lesson failure stop the Word of God for moving forward. So what do you do when you have a colossal object lesson fail? You just keep going! And let God do the work that He's going to do anyway.
The beautiful thing about ministering God's word is that it will always go forth with power. Object lessons are fun and they help us show children, a physical example of what is taking place in the spiritual side of the story, but they don't replace the word of life itself. And God will always do what he wants to do in the alter time. It is His WORD and His WORK.
Then you figure out your object lesson issues later and try again! Ha!
